Our enthusiastic dance instructor for the Michael Arenella/September Crossing
We are happy to announce that Elaine Hewlett will be our dance instructor for our Deco Dance crossing in September. She’ll be teaching 5+ lessons of era-correct ballroom dances steps.
Elaine Hewlett has been teaching dance for over 25 years and owns the Rhythm Room Dance Studio in Dallas, Texas. Specializing in early 20th century partner dances, Elaine has worked with various local arts, theater and dance companies including the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Kitchen Dog Theater, Dallas/Fort Worth Ballet, Contemporary Ballet of Dallas, Plano Repertory Theater and Perot Museum. She has also appeared in commercials and tv shows both locally and internationally.
In addition to teaching in Texas, Elaine has taught at workshops around the country including the St. Louis Tap Festival, American Lindy Hop Championship, Oakland Swing Festival, Swing Out New Hampshire, New England Swing Dance Championship, Great Southwest Lindy Fest and Austin Swing Riot.
On the September crossing, Elaine will be teaching her favorites which include Peabody, Rumba, Swing, Balboa, Fox Trot, and Charleston.
