FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Vintage enthusiasts welcome a new stylized vacation opportunity with themed Transatlantic crossings on the Queen Mary 2.
New York, New York – April 15, 2021 – Vintage style and history buffs who long to relive the bygone days of elegant travel by sea now have their chance!
Newly launched Ahoy Vintage Cruises is offering immersive vintage travel opportunities for people who have an affinity for the decades of the 1920s through ‘50s. These sea travel experiences will have a special emphasis on the jazz age and swing era.
You’ll be able to dance your way across the Atlantic to the swinging sounds of artists like Alex Mendham and His Orchestra (April 2022) and the Glenn Miller Orchestra (May 2022) on the world’s largest passenger ocean liner, the Queen Mary 2. Ahoy is also in talks with a yet-undisclosed popular jazz performer from New York City.
Experience a luxurious ocean journey unlike any other. The vintage Transatlantic crossings from Southampton to New York are your chance to escape the real world and indulge in voyages that call back to yesteryear. The Queen Mary 2, Cunard’s remarkable flagship, is perfectly suited to the stately and festive vintage ambience with its legendary style, elegance, and premium service.
“After more than a year of everything being cancelled, everyone is going to love making up for lost time with these exciting voyages,” said cruise specialist and organizer Tom Pecena. “Guests will be very impressed by the extensive safety measures Cunard is putting in place. These are trips you can feel safe and secure about booking now, with excellent cancellation and rebooking policies. People keep telling me how nice it is to book the trip now so they have something to finally look forward to!”
Ahoy’s private vintage events mainly take place in the Queen’s Room of the ship, which features the world’s largest ballroom at sea; a permanent dance floor of 1200 square feet. Rather than commandeering the entire ship, these exclusive and intimate events take place privately with groups of approximately 300 or so guests, so the participants have a chance to mix and mingle and enjoy the private performances.
Along with the private events, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy Cunard’s famously grand Afternoon Tea along with the rest of the ship’s many amenities and activities. However, the true highlight will be the chance for vintage buffs to show off their finery and meet like-minded people on what is sure to be a “Sentimental Journey” for all participants!
