FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Travel the sea in style with world renown style activist and vintage fashion icon, Dandy Wellington!
New York, New York – July 30, 2021 – New York-based Dandy Wellington and His Band are bringing their sensationally stylish and sizzlingly hot sound to the Atlantic Ocean as part of a Transatlantic crossing on Cunard’s famous Queen Mary 2 ocean liner.
The Harlem born entertainer has just been announced as the newest headliner with Ahoy Vintage Cruises. Mr. Wellington is preparing to take passengers on a “Fascinating Voyage”; an immersive vintage travel experience for people who have an affinity for the music and fashion of the 1920s through early ‘60s.
The seven day crossing will depart from Southampton, UK on October 18th, 2022 and arrive in New York City on October 25th, 2022. Along the way, passengers will experience a week of private entertainment as part of this unique vintage vacation.
“It’s all about creating truly magical,” says Dandy Wellington. “As an entertainer, storyteller, and style activist, I strive to create magical instances that attendees will remember forever. Paired with the dramatic backdrop of the world’s only remaining ocean liner. It’ll be a vacation we’ll never forget!”
Among Mr. Wellington’s extensive accolades including appearing at the Sydney Opera House and features in The Robb Report and Vogue, he is also credited with popularizing the important activist #VintageStyleNotVintageValues hashtag.
The Queen Mary 2 is Cunard’s remarkable flagship and is perfectly suited to the stately and festive vintage ambience with its legendary style, elegance, and premium service.
Ahoy’s private vintage events mainly take place in the Queen’s Room of the ship, which features the world’s largest ballroom at sea; a permanent dance floor of 1200 square feet. Rather than commandeering the entire ship, these exclusive and intimate events take place privately with groups of approximately 300 or so guests, so the participants have a chance to mix and mingle and enjoy the private performances.
Along with the private events, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy Cunard’s famously grand Afternoon Tea along with the rest of the ship’s many amenities and activities. However, the true highlight will be the chance for vintage buffs to show off their finery and meet like-minded people on what is sure to be a “Fascinating Voyage” for all participants!
